Alone

DC Martin

11 Mar, 2012 08:27 AM
Maybe the shallow waters in my dreams, are only shallow just to me,
perhaps in a wakened reality, I drown in that great sea,

a happenstance of whirlwinds, an earthquake, magnitude unknown,
an atom bomb of realization that I am better off alone,

when just the smallest touch is my everything, and a smile is life and death,
and the air I breathe will never be as sweet, as when we kiss and share a breath.

Alone, sacrificed for the greater good, for your happiness,
I sink to the bottom of that darkened sea, into that sweet abyss,

An empty life without you

Steve

02 Jun, 2012 02:29 PM
Autumn’s breeze blows summers leaves through my mind
Alone, I sit on this bench, but recall a time
Before my days were filled with such emptiness
When I thought you would always be mine

My memory wanders back to a time when I was young
So full of passion was my love for you
For a while I knew you desired the same
But you became tired of us and away you did run

It was your wish to walk away and not to say goodbye,
I said I’d never forget you and to this I’ve been true

I'm sorry

Sara Crumbley

13 Apr, 2012 01:17 AM
If I could go back,
Back through time and space.
I would take it all back,
Every harsh word that I said.

I'm sorry I caused you,
So much hurt and pain.
But your words cut deeper,
Than any double edged sword.

I've been given time to ponder,
Over all the things I've often wondered.

A Beautiful Lie

sharna

20 Feb, 2012 09:28 AM
Standing by the river side
The same river you sat and cried.
You are alone in the world with nothing to loose
An explosion waiting to happen like a broken fuse.
People say you are no one of beauty nor of grace
So you keep putting your toe out of place.

Longing to strike out at the world around you
You’re trapped in a box with nothing to do.
It seems like the world is driving you crazy
Like with the constant screams of a new born baby.
So you sit by the river side

Shattered

Lily Vasilyeva

01 Jun, 2013 12:50 PM
With every word they say,
Her heart hurts a little more,
She only wants to break away,
Away to stop feeling sore;

She's sitting in her room now,
Her eyes are empty, hollowed out,
The world makes her mock- bow,
She cannot take it, cannot even shout;

She walks along the bustling crowd,
No- one noticing the tears spilling out,

DEAD LONELINESS

Bobby Flowers

24 Mar, 2013 06:51 PM
Lost,
Alone,
Forgotten,
Outcast...

A life where no one even knows you exist,
where everything you've ever known was a lie.

A life where you question whether or not the world you are living in is real, or a figment of your imagination,
where nothing seems familiar,
and you forget where you are,
and you don't know how to get back home.

Lonely people are misunderstood

Raincloud

05 Nov, 2012 03:39 AM
I love winter
The air stills
Cold numbs the skin
And time crawls

Perfect for a walk
Down the road less traveled by
Where naked trees cover overhead

Where the snow-filled clouds
Make the world grey and uniform.
Where the road stretches

The Last Voyage

Walter William Safar

18 Feb, 2012 06:42 PM
THE LAST VOYAGE

Like a straw man,
Hunted by gusts of wind
(in order to outrun death),
I am returning to the valley of my childhood;

To see the old home one last time,
To see the old walnut tree one last time,
under which my mother used to read
Mark Twain's wonderful stories to me.

Our little raven

A Mother of Raven

12 Jul, 2017 05:02 PM
You never got to truly know me
We wasted time on useless fights
It was about who is stronger
It was about who is right

And now we're left with bleeding hearts
There is no winning, only loss
No one is right, no one is stronger
And all our happiness is lost

We fought because we love each other
We drove ourselves into the dark

Tomorrow

DC Martin

10 Nov, 2012 01:29 PM
Maybe I'll see you tomorrow,
maybe then it will come to be,
that all these days spent tucked away,
are only make believe

I've stopped looking back at yesterday,
for it's of tomorrow that I dream,
a day I pray is not so far away,
at least that's how it seems.

but as I found myself napping,
tomorrow once again became today
