Mommy

From the first time I was born and was placed between your warm caring arms, I knew you were the Mom who no one could ever beat. My eyes were blurry and tiny for we are Asian. I tried to make your face out but couldn't. Though I couldn't, I knew you'd be the best and the prettiest. Mommy, we are on the verge of losing our house. I'm really scared. I sat on Daddy's lap and he told me that you go to work everyday just to be able to make a few cents to keep the family safe. Daddy's tears hit my cheeks but I never understood why he was crying. I am 5 years old now Mommy. I'm so happy to know that you throw Birthday parties. I love the cake! Do you remember when I didn't know what a present was and I said I would... [Read More]

My love

Janu

Sorry if this is too long. I came from quite a rich family. But as they say money does not buy happiness. I knew very little happiness since I was young. My family had several people working under us both in my house as well as in our workplace. My mother was a very wonderful person but very weak. She did not dare do anything against my father. My father had open affairs with other women; even bringing them home in front of mother. But my mother does not say anything. She was dying inside but she laughed outside for me. Everyone knew what happens in our house but no one questions my father. Eric was the son of one of the employees. I knew him since I was 5 and he was 7. Eric's father worked around the house and Eric was around a lot. There were not a... [Read More]

Am I enough?

The story starts years ago, I was almost 3, my little sister Chloe Sophia was just born. My father has and still does drugs. Every drug imaginable. My father brought my mother into drugs and luckily she stopped. My father could never hold down a job and claimed things that were untrue, bu my mother thought she loved him so went along with it. He'd leave for weeks, even months at a time. He'd cheat on my mother, lie, and leave. She gained weight. She was 360 by the time i was born...she was a very beautiful woman. (SHE STILL IS!) She tried to fill the hole. When me and my sister were born she only wanted the best for us. I have always been my dads favorite. He hated Chloe, she was the cutest thing ever. I loved her like she was my little girl. I remember the divorce... [Read More]

Olivia

It was 8:oo pm as my father came in and said we were going out for a surprise. This was rare, after my mother passed away after she gave birth to me, my dad was always finding it hard to juggling with his work and looking after me, this is hard as i am dyslexic. My dad needs to get extra help for me as I'm starting high school I am 11. My father took my hand and escorted me to the car. This would be the last time i set foot in this car. It was getting dark and the rain was pelting on the car i sat back and looked out the window to figure out where we were going. I was in the passenger's seat and my dad was driving. It was so cold outside that the car windows started to freeze. We were coming out of... [Read More]

Dear Dad <3

Dear Dad, I still remember that dark night. Your sister or my aunt was here to visit you. She came with your crippled step mom and her husband who loved you as a brother so much. They were laughing about stories until there was a screech of police cars outside. The Vibrant colors of red and blue filled the house through the windows. I was only about to be seven so my mom told me to hide in the room. I was really nosy i know, so i pressed my ear to the door. My hair got in my eyes but i had a feeling of what i was going to hear was going to be really important so i ignored it. I heard my mom footsteps go down the main hall and the click of the door opening. She screamed. I stood up but i thought of her getting... [Read More]

Celebration Of Life Over Limitations

yuan

All through my life up until now, I've controlled how to express my emotions, not because I didn't feel them, I felt them very deeply, but I certainly suppressed my inferiority and discontentment. Being a poor kid, I knew how to pretend I wasn't hungry, to act like I wasn't cold when I was freezing , and to feel like people?s words didn't hurt just because my state didn't give me the liberty to complain. My young heart was screaming up to the top of my lungs but words seemed hesitant to come out. I was mum as if the feeling never exist. There were several moments in my past life that my pride was confronted and had to convince myself to understand and give pardon although I knew things weren't right. I was tired of this negative emotion and I felt so dissatisfied. My fierce motivated me. They provoked... [Read More]

My life

Kayleigh..

29 Sep, 2011 09:34 AM

Well, I'm only 13 years old now but have gone through and experienced many problems in life. From the age of two i was violently beaten, saw my mum get beat up nearly everyday by her boyfriend..I was locked in a cupboard and starved for a week, after that i was rushed to hospital very ill. I never really settled down when i was younger, I've lived in so many different places, including living on the streets for months on end..I used to go to sleep in the morning, wake up and my mum had gone.. she'd come back a day or two later leaving me and my little sister home alone at the age of 5. Things became worse, she took up drugs. It used to kill me watching her take drugs, knowing she was damaging her body.. She was constantly taking it then in bed ill.. Things cheered... [Read More]

I never got to say it

Jake Correa

This is my first time on this site and after reading some of the sad experiences, it felt right to share mine. I'm currently 22 years and the 10 years passed without a day that I didn't think about my grandfather, Lorenzo. he died on Sept.9, 2011. I live in my mother's house and since she works abroad, my grandparents are the ones who are taking care of me. But ever since I was in pre-school, it was my grandfather who always brought and fetched me from school. My grandfather was a man of a few words and he never showed his love for his children or their kids. "Cari?o Brutal" as we call it or tough love. But he was a caring man but he showed it in his own way. On March 21, 1999. We just moved in to our new house and everyone was excited but granddad... [Read More]

Constant fear of losing something

Mia Mill

05 Sep, 2011 10:29 AM

You know, you can call me a brat, a kid who doesn't know a thing about the world, because I'm just sixteen years old and honestly, I wish it was like that. Just to be a naive kid, to knows nothing about death, about money that seems to vanish and parents, who just get older and older. And in their shadow follows death. Certainly, but always lets go of them at the last moment. Seems to always leave you behind with the message don't forget me, one day I will come'. It began first when I was, I think, eleven years old. My mother had cancer. It wasn't that bad even though it was cancer, but we first didn't knew if she could recover. What made her conditions really worse were the medicaments she had to take. She was weak and you couldn't do anything than just watch. Watch your... [Read More]
