I love you daddy!!

Thank you for taking the time to read this :) Me and my daddy have a very close relationship, and of course, I am a daddy's girl. As I was growing up, he constantly reminded me that I was ALWAYS going to be his little girl no matter what. It didn't really bother me until I got to my teenage years. You know how most teenage girls are, they like to be isolated from their parents and they like to be treated like adults. That's how I was when I was about 14 or 15 years old. We would spend alot of time together, like fishing, bowling, and ice skating. He said, he loved spending time with his little girl. This is when it bothered me.. "DAD!" is usually what I would yell when he called me this. "I know I'm your daughter and I know you love me, but... [Read More]

my mother

i was seven when i watched my mother drown in her own blood and mucus. four years before i was born, she had been diagnosed with lung cancer. she battled this horrible war for more than ten years before crashing and burning, eventually dying. cancer puts on an excellent poker face; just when you think you're better, you then are lying in some pathetic hole in the ground for eternity. just a month before she had died, she had actually been laughing and talking and she had even been out in the garden a little. sure, the chemo had made her loose all her hair and she looked like a zombie because she was so pale, but my dad was still so madly in love with her. in fact, i'd hear him cry every night before she left, and sometimes look into their room and see him kneeling besides their... lost mom and brothers.

Life sucked since day one. Beatings from my dad most of the time. The worst part was watching him stomp on my mom until her eyes were bloody and her hand was broken. Later that night he stomped on my brother into the corner. I couldnt do anything but scream and beg him to stop. but that didnt do any good. All i wanted in life was a happy family. With siblings who all got along, and a mom and dad who loved each other. But obviously that wasnt going to happen. It got so bad my mom and i had to walk each other to the bathroom every time one of us had to use it. We had locks on our doors that had to use a key. and everywhere she went, i had to go with, or my dad would try to hurt her. Life was so horrible,... [Read More]

Never Forgotten

Lizzie

It's been at least four years since this incident happened. It was a complicated time. For the first time I saw my mother talking to my dad and she was crying;I've never seen her cry before. Then the next night both of my parents told me and my brother the big news,"Were having a divorce."I just stood there speechless. But the words that came from my mouth that night were the words of the me that was about to break. "Why? why does this have to happen? Can't we work it out like we always have?" And by that time i didn't notice but I found myself crying. A year later I was with my mom in Las Vegas. Asking her if she should really spend the child support money on couch bags. The only thing she said was,"It's alright I have more money coming in next month."And all I'm... [Read More]

Good bye my Beloved father..

September 29, 2006 my father died from hypertension. He was 56 years old, and I was just 10 years old back then. Few weeks before my father died, he was confined in a hospital. My mother, brothers, sister, uncle are the only who are allowed to go there. I was left at the house with my auntie. I kept on going to school, my classmates and teachers do not know anything about my father being confined in the hospital. Few days later, my sister went home to take care of me. When we were about to sleep, I asked her. "Sis, what is dad's illness?" "He has no illness. Dad is just sick. He'll come home soon." she replied and went to sleep. I felt relieved, 'coz I thought it was dangerous or something. Then after 1 week, I read some messages in my sister's mobile. She was out that... [Read More]

Grandmothers Death - Cancer

Sam

For years she has been to sick to walk up-stairs to her bedroom to sleep. We've had to order a hospital bed, and a wheel chair for her and put it in the living room. She is afraid to be by herself and she has fought through hard times of poverty and violence. Yesterday she was 63, today she would be 64.. It seems like it was only yesterday when I saw her face, the sad lonely look gleaming from her eyes, the fear of dying from day-to-day. She was a loving women who gave and never received. She had many illnesses. Stage 4 Cancer, Diabetes, Low Blood Pressure, Pain, Paralyzed Left Lung, One Working Kidney, along with many other problems that left many doctors pondering to their self, "How does she keep going?" Day 1: One day, she went to the hospital with an asthma attack. I thought nothing... [Read More]
