Summer love, Summer lost

Marie Markham

10 Nov, 2016 12:52 PM

From the day we were born he had been my best friend. The only constant in my world of chaos. One faithful day our friendship blossom into something so much more. Summer of 2011 (11 yrs. old) We sat on the steps outside our apartment building, there had been a big black out, not a light in sight and just above our head there was a sky full of stars, more than we had ever seen. But, somehow my eyes couldn't move from him. He sat with his head in his hands; so, I asked him what was wrong he just shook his head and said "nothing" but I knew him better. I watched him carefully as I set my head in my hands and looked to him with a smile. His lips twitched but he quickly turned away. I moved alittle closer slightly nudged him with my elbow, a... Not so sad

Clary Barns

08 Nov, 2016 11:20 PM

Another day, Another waist of my time. My mom is going on and on about how she and her boyfriend are fighting. Again. I lean back and yawn, stretching my arms out. I'm tired, I haven't gotten much sleep these past few days, cause all I hear is my mother yelling at her boyfriend. I get up and walk away, she is too busy talking to notice. My name is Amber,I am small, and have long black hair and ugly green eyes. I am 17 and live in Woodboorn, Virginia. You might not have heard of it, it's is infact a extremely small town. I am the nobody at my school. You know those cliche cliques, yeah well we have those. The popular, the nerds, the goths, the stoners and then there is me, the nobody who is friends with another nobody.I can already tell you think this story is... [Read More]

To He Whom Wishes To Know (Part 1)

Theodore B. Dove (D.T)

28 Sep, 2016 11:38 PM

To he whom wishes to know, Unless you yourself are a stout dis-believer, or a religious person of high standing and pure heart, it is ill advised you should continue reading this poorly scrawled narrative of the events that incessantly haunt my nights and days. Turn instead to another tale of another person, and allow your soul to remain unperturbed by those archaic spirits awakened by my meddling; an act of foolishness for which there is no remedy. Do not think the fact my heart still proceeds with its methodical pumping that my horror is none the less, nor that my shaky breaths show any true sign of life - for how can one live after being faced with heinous secrets not meant for mere mortals, instead belonging to something mightier and older then any god. Even now, as I write this final letter, I hear their voices whispering behind... [Read More]

Christmas Eve

Tiffany Winters

03 Sep, 2016 02:59 AM

It was my senior year of high school, and it was also Friday, the last day before winter break begun and the whole school was staring down the clock. There was 10 minutes before the bell rung for the end of the day. "Tiffany, you better come to my party!" said Kim, a friend I made four years prior. "Who wouldn't?" "(laughs) Yeah that's what you say every time. Like I get it, Will was a jerk but you've gotta start reviving your social life!" I was pretty popular last year and dated a senior till he left for college. We tried to keep a long distance relationship, but they never really work out do they? Turns out he's been cheating on me the whole time he was gone and didn't show one hint of remorse, but that's another story I'd rather not get into. I was heartbroken, Will was... [Read More]

That White Puppy with Black Spots

Wolfy

03 Jul, 2016 06:21 AM

It hurts...every time. I try to be strong but once I'm alone is when I truly let it all out. I cry so hard, it hurts. This one made me cry even more than the rest. Want to know what happened? I'll tell you. Just another day, wake up, eat, then probably back to bed. I know, I'm lazy as fuck. Though before I go back, there is someone I must feed first. The puppy. That white puppy with black spots, who is too small and weak to feed herself. She's always cold. Her mother can't really do anything, though sometimes it seems that she doesn't want anything to do with her and only takes care of the little one's older sister who was in much better health. Everynight I let her sleep with me, though I can never sleep without worrying that I might squish her. My grandma and... [Read More]

Hold on

Walker

25 Mar, 2016 08:54 PM

I'll start this one with a quote from Sarah Elle Emme- "I bled onto pages To spare you grief I was holding inside, Blood mixed with my tears, my ink wove a desperate tale of another time, As pages climbed towards another sky the burn in my chest began to subside, Till the pain lie dormant once more and the blood, tears and ink had nearly run dry." I'll be honest here. I've had learnt not to believe in love, or people who believed that you couldn't go on in life without love. I was in love once upon a time, we were kids and the girl I loved was 'taken away from me because God had to call his angel back home, so she could look over me better,' as they said. She made me promise that I will go on in life no matter what, make world a... [Read More]

Crying Alone in Darkness

Jessica. Catafura

14 Mar, 2016 01:01 PM

Before, you begin to read; I would like to tell you that this is based on a true story and that you should read it all the way through. I had a childhood friend. His name was 'Ben. Pittwater'. He was my friend, my neighbour, my child hood friend, my lover and soul mate. And I like to think that Ben loved me as much as I loved him. Thinking back, the first time I saw Ben was when I was 9 years old. Even though he had a luxurious living style, he was the only child and his parents were usually at work and returned at around 1PM. I sometimes saw him and after that, I let out the courage to say “Hi” to the member of the famous, rich Pittwater family. I still remember the moment he looked up after scratching the dirt then smiling at me with... [Read More]

Silence

Danelle

15 Dec, 2015 03:16 AM

Not long ago a 11 year old girl was admitted into the hospital. She spent her time looking out the Window and smiling. It was as if the view was beautiful. Although it was just a basketball court. Every night she, just listened to the sound of the beeps. It broke the silence of the cold nights. When people asked her if she was sad her reply was " a smile can fix a problem ". No one could see her sadness. Her imagination had covered all over her room. Some say she could bring a light into a and room. Her mask fooled everyone. That was until the day he met her................. A nurse had come into her room with a boy around her age. He looked at her with bright eyes "wow your so pretty. With your big chocolate coloured brown eyes, small cherry coloured lips and brown hair"... [Read More]
