Best Friend

Andie

16 Nov, 2011 06:19 AM
I once had a very best friend,
And once long ago we used to send,
The most wondrous mail,
And to the ends of the world we would sail,
Or so we thought,
And though we fought,
Through thick and thin,
Our friendship I thought would never dim.

But over the years our love has faded,
And even though we once rated,
Each other as 10 and 10,

I Understand

If dreams are memories
And memories are dreams
Then where is the reality that i seek
From what it seems
It's as if I understand nothing
And one who understands nothing knows nothing at all

These dreams are fading
And so are my memories

Everything happens

Valeria Novikova

What a pity
You can't get back what's gone:
The words, that are thrown
or left unsaid at all.
You can't get back the people
Who made you fall, leaving emptiness
in your soul.

Life is a stage
And we are actors of the stage
with different set of minds
and age.

You Moved Ahead...!

Shweta Khandelwal

15 Apr, 2015 06:03 AM
you moved ahead for a new life
leaving me behind to feel the pain
i didn't said a word nor shed a tear
but was waving and giving you a smile

you thought i can bear it
but inside me i was feeling void
on the other side i was happy for you
but there was something that was making me die

as always, the mistake was not yours it was mine
longing to keep you in my arms for the lifetime

The Girl With A Thousand Names

Michael Lipps

04 Oct, 2016 01:07 PM
I still remember the contours of her face
All her freckles and scars
I see her face when I close my eyes
I gave you all my love
I gave you all of me
I opened my soul to you
Where are you now
How many times did you lie to me
Did you really love me or was it all just a fantasy
Was I in a comatose state stuck in my own body
creating my own reality
I still feel your touch

Memories That Haunt Me

Hannah

28 Nov, 2015 10:16 PM
He sits on his death bed and stares at the clock,
tick tock he says, tick tock.

His daughter walks in and she is a mess,
filled with the fear that her father is dead.
her eyes fill with joy until she hears his last words,
and outside the window the birds start to chirp.
Her father lay limp, white on the bed,
as his daughter wishes that she also was dead.

So she starts to dream of the things she could do,
so she could end up like her father too.

all that's left

Daniel Bogogolela

I think I know why my lover died,
I think I know why she's laying
in the cemetery.
It's because she'd been sick for long.
Her stories and poetry recitals were sick.

That's why she and I got expelled from
one gathering after another.
And she'd casually tell her peers that
my laughter caused it all,
that I laugh non-stop and very few
people care to know the reason why

Empty

seeker

11 Sep, 2018 12:22 PM
Everyday I woke up
You used to pour a coffee on my cup
Kisses in the morning
Then you and me hugging

It used to be

It used to be
But now I couldn't see
So I just slip back on my sheets
Like playing hide and seek

The Wind

Amanda Booth

12 Apr, 2013 01:12 PM
Borrowed a box of broken dreams
And picked through a few,
But none fit the hole within my chest,
So I tucked a few just out of view

And to the hopeless, I gave the rest.
My feet led me to where I'll sleep tonight,
So arriving I sat and leaned against the wall,
As the rain it fell like a symphony
In an abandoned concert hall,

The wind it seems to call your name
