Past Poison

Lost_Sinner

What's holding me back,
Is the time we never had.
As the poison gave me a heaven I could never find,
While lost in the streets without a dime.

I could get lost in each inch of sinful bliss that flowed into me,
And I was too blind to see,
All that it did to me.

Gazing at these vibrant scars,
Going one step too far.
Cold concrete, freezing days,

Hope

Rebecca Chapman

05 Feb, 2016 06:19 AM
There's always hope in the world we're in.
Despite what you think, the pain will end.
After all the tears and lonely nights,
Just stand up tall; you'll win this fight.
After a storm, a rainbow appears,
letting us know that sunshine is near.
After you cry, you smile again.
The pain you feel will slowly end.
And when you fall, you stand back up.
Even though it may be tough.
You say you can't do it,
But I know you can.

Escape

Rebecca Chapman

05 Feb, 2016 06:49 AM
Every time I close my eyes,
I enter a wonderland in disguise.
People usually refer to this as sleep,
But to me, it's quite a fantasy.
I close my eyes, and escape the world.
And nothing matters anymore.
All my sadness disappears.
All the pain, and all the tears.
This is how I escape my life.
I close my eyes and turn off the light.

Live Another Day

Ben Vanhook

19 Jul, 2017 11:14 PM
Written in red ink
A pitcher of wine you’d drink
As you said “Live another day”

In a sea of tears, I was adrift
But you taught me how the times would shift
You told me, “Live another day”

Through all the hopeless nights
When my was heart falling from great heights
You told me, “Live another day”

The Man And His Harp.

Faith Emily

11 Mar, 2013 07:40 PM
The harpist played one long
Melancholy note that stretched
Around the room like a fire
That has nowhere else to go.

His fingers gently plucked and stroked
The golden strings made of
Thick strong wire that someone could
Easily wrap around their neck.

His face held no emotion
Not one drop of sadness or hope

is this depression?

Kathja Andersen

My mom says "just be happy! i had it worse than you"
My sister says "you don't have depression! stop lying!"
My niece says "i've never seen you cry, how can you have depression if you don't cry all the time?!"
My response is always "I don't know!" or "That's not how depression works!"

People tell me "You're gaining weight... "
People tell me "You're stupid"
People tell me "Wow your life is easy!"

I tell myself "I DON'T HAVE DEPRESSION!"
I tell myself "I'M FINE! STOP LYING TO YOURSELF!"
I tell myself "EVERYONE HATES YOU! YOU'RE THE REASON DAD LEFT!"

Depression

Amelia X Willis

02 Apr, 2013 07:05 PM
Life, I never understood it
Watching my little sister having a fit
Who could be so mean?
Probably someone who thinks they're tall, cool and lean

When really, they're worse than the devil
Bigger and badder on a whole different level
And I hate the life I live
Who'd pick this for anyone is such a dive

And I hate living this way
Waiting for that very, very special day
