Hopeless Times

My breath slows down,
My heart speeds up.

A quivering ball builds inside my throat,
I swallow it down but it refuses to leave.

The being in front of me shrieks in rage,
Hands fly up and pound my face.

I lie on the floor and plead for mercy,
They show non as thier foot stikes my body.

Now the tears well up inside my eyes,
I try to stay strong and shut them tight.

I am then picked up and flung to the side,
I cringe as they leave satisfied.

I sit in they corner clutching my sides,
Tears fall out as the pain subsides.

I want to escape,
But I don't dare.

In every hopeless situation
A silver lining must show.
