The Daily Routine

Every day I wake up
And start my routine
I have many tasks to take up
And many that are unseen

I first work as shown
And tie down the shoelace
I also check my phone,
You know, just in case

I punch the clock
And head for home
Go and sit at the dock
Reminiscing all alone

Do you remember those nights?
Where we stayed up late?
Hooray to our fight
Trying to contradict our fate

My love remains unblemished
And it will never disappear
Neither one of us is the menace
I want that to be clear

These thoughts cross my mind
Like cars on a highway
Never-ending and untamed
They come and fly away

I try to forget it all
So I can move on
But our love stood so tall
It remains dusk till dawn

I'll go to bed tonight
And I promise I'll dream of you
Just remember that one kid, alright?
The one who loves you, in all that is true
