Indian Maiden

loving man

07 May, 2018 04:19 PM

There was once a very beautiful Indian maiden, who died suddenly on the day she was to have been married to a handsome young warrior. He was also brave, but his heart was not proof against this loss. From the hour she was buried, there was no more joy or peace for him. He went often to visit the spot where the women had buried her, and sat musing there, when, it was thought by some of his friends, he would have done better to try to amuse himself in the chase, or by diverting his thoughts in the warpath. But war and hunting had both lost their charms for him. His heart was already dead within him. He pushed aside both his war-club and his bow and arrows. He had heard the old people say, that there was a path that led to the land of souls, and he... [Read More]

A Bad Year

Cheri Matsue

19 Mar, 2018 04:19 AM

This all took place in March 2017-March 2018 while I was still 13 until I was almost 15. I was getting kind of worried. My Dad hadn't slept well in weeks and he kept saying he wasn't feeling good. The doctors said it would pass, but it never did. We kept hoping and hoping that he would get better. Every night, I would sit in my room and cry because through all the pain, my dad still always smiled and was strong for my sister and I. But everything had to go downhill. It was the middle of March. We were preparing to enjoy the first day of spring break when all of the sudden, we all get called to the living room. This never happened unless something was wrong so I was really scared. I sat on the armrest of the chair my Dad was sitting in and leaned... [Read More]

MIND GAMES

Jesse Boston

01 Mar, 2018 02:54 AM

When someone disappears for a really long time, especially if no one cares that they’ve actually gone, and then they all of a sudden show up again. Most people will make the joke that the person came back from the dead. Well in my case, the case of Jesse Boston, I really did come back from the dead! A few times as a matter of fact. That’s because I returned from a four year coma. During which I remember every horrific thing they had all done to me. The shock to my heart jolting me back to life one to many times. Of course, I knew very little about the actual dying part. But I knew my so called loved ones, and friends were responsible for at least three of my death's. It was all just haze. At least until my memory flashes came to me. It was like getting... [Read More]

A story of a broken girl

Jessica

03 Jan, 2018 10:34 PM

It started at a young age when she knew something was wrong with her. It was hard in the beginning the way he looked at her the way he touched her.Everything seemed to fade into black as she tasted the salty tears that fell from her eyes. She was scared at first that first time changed her. It's like living in a dark whole in your mind you don't want to be you anymore you want to hide in the tears that fall from your eyes you want to run but there's never a place to hide. So you sit there and fade into the eyes of the monster as he takes your screams as a invite to invaid your soul. Your cries go unheard your words go unspoken as you lay and watch every hope and dream go out the room. You look in the mirror at this broken girl... [Read More]

Voicemails

Abby Perket

08 Dec, 2017 11:47 PM

I smiled down at the small black box sitting on our kitchen counter. I picked it up, cradling it in my hands as I gently opened it, looking down at the shining silver and sparkling diamonds of Sara’s engagement ring. Still gazing down at it, I reached over to grab my phone. Pushing the on button, I scrolled through my apps until I came to my voicemail. I clicked on the 6th recording down and pressed play. I smiled softly as the light, happy sound of Sara’s voice came through the tiny speaker. “Landon…just a second...I’m just...hang on a moment.” There was the sound of a brief scuffle, some shuffling fabric, and a bit of heavy breathing, then Sara’s voice came back. “Sorry about that, I was trying to get my suitcase out of the trunk of the taxi. I just wanted to call you one more time before I’m... [Read More]

A dog's life

John L.

30 Nov, 2017 02:51 PM

So I have been asked for more stories and new ones. Before I start this one I have to let you know that unlike the rest of my stories this one won't be a real one. I couldn't think of anything I am comfortable sharing at this point in time. So again *this is a made up story (obviously)* but I still hope you enjoy it. I'm brought into this world, just a tiny little thing, with a few brothers and sisters by my side. They are small too. My mother is kissing me and and my brothers/sisters. A few weeks go by and I get bigger. I am starting to attempt a few steps. I still stumble around because I am so young. A few weeks go by and a family walks in and starts looking at my family. They pick a few of my brothers and sisters and... [Read More]

You Were Perfect

jasmine

“I love you.” “Ple-.” And just like that, my world was taken away from me. I remember it. I remember it all too well. It was our night. His eyes perused my entire being, inspecting me like I was a work of art; not with the lust I found so familiar within my past lovers—my past mistakes—but rather with a burning desire to truly love me with his all. A minute smirk pulled at the corners of his thin lips, barely hinting at what would be the dimple many girls endlessly gawked at. The thought of another female admiringly and hungrily eyeballing him, my man, instigated a slight eruption of jealousy and anger. However, those emotions that I locked in the back of my mind, that I tried to avoid with him, instantly vanished the moment his finger tucked a stray hair behind my ear. Blushing profusely, I looked down... [Read More]
