Box

you were here and the pain was gone
but as soon as you came you left
the pain was back
and so was this paper and pen.

Imagine a box with a window
a man inside
the window is there to remind him of what he doesn't have
he lives there to this day.
he will die there.

i take the pain
and turn it into hate
into a box
which i cannot escape

if i could go back
and re-do it all
then i wouldn't have pain
no suffering.
but in return
i wouldn't have met you.
I'd rather have pain and you
than happiness and no one

so take my box and shake it.
beat me up
if i have my window, then life is worth it.

i take the pain
and turn it into hate
into a box
which i cannot escape
