The Day She Died

Emma

06 Aug, 2011 12:04 AM

IF YOU READ THE ENTIRE THING, I WILL GREATLY APPRECIATE IT! :) I would just like to first off say that this story is about me losing my step mom in April 2011 when I was and am currently 18 years old. Her name was Lisa and she was only 35. I had known her since I was 9 years old, which at this point is half of my life. I wanna say that she was so young and healthy, she was a typical girly girl who enjoyed reading gossip magazines, watching reality shows and sipping on fruity drinks. She was so hilarious and sarcastic and put a smile on my face every day. Whenever I was upset, she always knew what to say and how to handle the situation. I will miss her greatly. There's always that one thing you never hope to hear. I sure as hell thought... [Read More]

Tears Aren't Enough

Belle

05 Mar, 2013 11:03 PM

Do you ever fear that you are going to lose someone close to you? Do you ever think that you might not see someone ever again? Well, I didn't. It was the summer after sixth grade. My hometown had just opened a new swimming pool and everyone loved it. Now, I can’t go there anymore without seeing her sleeping on one of the chairs, or dipping her feet in the water. The her I’m talking about was my best friend Erin. We had started hanging out at the beginning of the sixth grade when we were put in a group for a school thing together. After that, we were inseparable. We were always at each other's houses, or going to the pool when it was warm enough. And about half way through summer vacation she stayed a full week at my house. Nothing seemed wrong. A few days after she... [Read More]

Surviving Love...

Sarah

30 Jan, 2013 04:34 AM

I was running through the dark streets, barely seeing where I was going. The cold air was practically choking me while I breathed. I knew that I might not be on time but I also knew that if I didn’t try and get there, that I would be haunted of the memory forever. The man I loved needed me. I had received a call that he was going into cardiac arrest and this might be the last day his heart beats. At first I thought they were joking—but when they put Damen on the phone I knew that they were right. I barely recognized his voice, as if he had drunk too much Cough Syrup. I was about to ask him if he was okay when suddenly he screamed dropping the phone. No one bothered to pick it up, so I could hear their voices in the background, shouting orders.... [Read More]

The Broken Girl

Maria

15 Aug, 2011 04:58 PM

Once upon a time, there was a girl. She was the worlds biggest hopeless romantic, and always dreamed of finding her soul mate. She had severe, horrible abandonment issues, because her father had abandoned her. Her father was leaving one day and looked her straight in the eye and told her that she was unlovable. That no one would ever, ever love her. She had fallen in love before, but there was one special boy. She risked EVERYTHING for him. She wasn't aloud to date him. Her stepfather beat her when he found out she loved him, because she was 14 and he was 17. But she still loved him enough to keep in contact, even though she feared what her step dad would do. He swore multiple times that he wouldn't leave, that he understood her constant fear of abandonment. He told her he loved her, he promised he wouldn't... [Read More]

A Few Hours Too Late

Katie

I've always had a good life. My parents are together, I have a big family and lots of friends, and I never had a rainy day. The worst that happened to me was when we had to move for my dad's job. We moved practically every two years. My friends weren't close enough to me for me to miss them terribly until i started high school. My first class was full of people i knew. There were also many i didn't know. By the end of the semester most everyone in that class was on my good side. It was one of those days when the class goes to the computer lab to work and you're able to choose where you sit. There was one guy i didn't know. We'll call him Sam. I decided to sit with him. People say eyes are the windows to the soul. The first... [Read More]

The End

Alicia

22 Jul, 2011 12:21 AM

It was a random Sunday afternoon, as usual I had just waken up just like I do every weekend (mainly because on the weekends I have no school). My mom and I were sitting downstairs on the two separate couches we had down there, my mom on the sofa and me on the loveseat, watching TV. A commercial had came on when my mother got a call from the person from court saying that my father hadn't shown up for his court hearing thingy. She must have thought this call was a conversation a 13 year-old shouldn't be hearing, so , as usual, she slipped through the sliding, glass, back door peering through the glass at me as she continued to chat away on the phone. I could faintly hear the conversation when the parts of the show were real quiet, though they were only tidbits I heard. She came... [Read More]

Pretend, Expectations, Apathy

Nobody

06 Dec, 2012 03:00 PM

Each of these was too short to submit by itself, so here are the three as one story. Besides being written by the same person, they are not related to each other. They were meant to be read as individual pieces of writing, each telling a small piece of my life. I have more written, and I will upload them soon. I call them, all together, "Reflections" Thanks for reading! PRETEND And so I left. After all the tears, after all the hours spent pouring out my life, it was over. We said goodbye lightly and quickly, all pretending not to understand. After each quick goodbye, though they smiled, their eyes told a different story. They knew, as I did, what this was. Goodbye - for good. I was going. And I knew what would happen. Like everyone else, I would be talked about for a while and remembered for... [Read More]

Love is

Ashley Coulson

30 Mar, 2014 04:59 PM

I had three friends. Eric, Cathleen, Carol. Eric was chased by all the girls in our high school. Cathlyn was one of those popular girls. Cheerleader, sexy, and stylish. Carol was just one of those plain and average girls but still awfully pretty. Cathlyn and Carol were both totally crazy and wacko over Eric. Cathlyn didn't have to do anything to attract Eric, for she was already attractive enough. Carol on the other hand, showered Eric with love and care. Carol wasn't ugly at all. In fact, she looked sweet and pleasant. However, she wasn't a cheerleader and she didn't wear spaghetti-straps or tubes. So like everyone expected, Eric chose Cathleen. While Cathleen was labelled as the cool and attractive type, Carol was just one ordinary and plain girl. Eric always insulted Carol. He was always telling her what a 'Plain Jane' she was and how dumb she looked. It... [Read More]
