Tears Aren't Enough

Belle

Do you ever fear that you are going to lose someone close to you? Do you ever think that you might not see someone ever again? Well, I didn't. It was the summer after sixth grade. My hometown had just opened a new swimming pool and everyone loved it. Now, I can’t go there anymore without seeing her sleeping on one of the chairs, or dipping her feet in the water. The her I’m talking about was my best friend Erin. We had started hanging out at the beginning of the sixth grade when we were put in a group for a school thing together. After that, we were inseparable. We were always at each other's houses, or going to the pool when it was warm enough. And about half way through summer vacation she stayed a full week at my house. Nothing seemed wrong. A few days after she... [Read More]

my mother

kim

i was seven when i watched my mother drown in her own blood and mucus. four years before i was born, she had been diagnosed with lung cancer. she battled this horrible war for more than ten years before crashing and burning, eventually dying. cancer puts on an excellent poker face; just when you think you're better, you then are lying in some pathetic hole in the ground for eternity. just a month before she had died, she had actually been laughing and talking and she had even been out in the garden a little. sure, the chemo had made her loose all her hair and she looked like a zombie because she was so pale, but my dad was still so madly in love with her. in fact, i'd hear him cry every night before she left, and sometimes look into their room and see him kneeling besides their... Anne

"--so perfect! The kiss accompanied by the fireworks, it was so beautiful and--" "I know, now can you please shut up? Someone's trying to study here," "Fine. I'm going out, do you need anything?" "No," Anne sighed as soon as her roommate left their room. Then suddenly, she broke, tears were streaming down her face and she couldn't stop them. "Why? Why?" She was there that night. She was there when they sealed their fates with a kiss. Normally, she wouldn't believe superstitious such as 'the person you shared a kiss with during THAT night will be the person you'll spend eternity with' but that happened to her parents and her other relatives. It was childish to say 'she was supposed to be the one holding hands with Zeke, she should have been the one who shared that kiss with Zeke' she should have been Zeke's best friend, scratch that,... My Forbidden Love

Catherine G

When I was fourteen, I fell in love. It wasn't like any other teen love. It was real. As if everything in the world didn't matter but him and he made sure I knew he thought the same. The only difference was, we weren't allowed to see each other. He (Nolan) was grounded because of some reason I still don't know and his parents forbade him from any and all relations with any and all girls. But, obviously, he didn't care. We met at a marching band competition. I was surprised that we had been in the same band for so long and hadn't noticed each other until then. It was definitely that cliche love at first sight. He was joking around with his friends and they were pretending that they were drunk (immature, I know) and he kept going long after his friends stopped. It was then he started... [Read More]

Sometimes, time doesn't give you "times", its just once. Now, close your eyes. Imagine your closest bestfriends, remember all of your bitter sweet moments, remember the first time you broken hearted, the first time you kissed, when you said 'i love you' to someone, when you said 'goodbye', when you said 'sorry' and 'thank you'. Now, let me tell ya something, all those moments not all of it could have happened again. Learn to appreciate everything you have or had. I had a bestfriend at elementary school, she's like my own sister. We shared everything like kiss and tell, she know the worst part of me, so was i. But by time everything start changing. Go to middle school, find new friends, and moving always be the hardest part. And i moved to another province, left her. Sometimes, i missed her. But, by then i get used to live my... [Read More]

I never got to say it

Jake Correa

This is my first time on this site and after reading some of the sad experiences, it felt right to share mine. I'm currently 22 years and the 10 years passed without a day that I didn't think about my grandfather, Lorenzo. he died on Sept.9, 2011. I live in my mother's house and since she works abroad, my grandparents are the ones who are taking care of me. But ever since I was in pre-school, it was my grandfather who always brought and fetched me from school. My grandfather was a man of a few words and he never showed his love for his children or their kids. "Cari?o Brutal" as we call it or tough love. But he was a caring man but he showed it in his own way. On March 21, 1999. We just moved in to our new house and everyone was excited but granddad... [Read More]

missing you

Jessica

You were always there for me when I needed a hug. You never said a word; you would just sit there quietly, and listen to everything I told you. We always went for walks together to the park. You were so cute when you would fall asleep, I could always tell when you were having a good dream. You were the most amazing friend I could ask for, and now you?re gone. I?ll never forget you. When we?d go in the back yard and play tug a war, you always won though. I just wish you had more time; I would give anything to have you here right now, lying next to me having your sweet dreams. I always knew that day would come; when you?d no longer be here with me, but why did it have to end like that? You were in so much pain it hurt me... [Read More]

Broken Dreams

Wilhuff Tarkin

On the new Petition by Henry Walsh. I was one of the first 40 signatures, I advertised this petition on all social media I could from Facebook to Gab and YouTube to Twitter. Etc. I was surprised that while of course fans are divided on the Disney take of star wars, never did I think I would have my life threatened over the franchise. Henry Walsh also has been threatened, that people would hack his email, that they would attack him. I have been told I would suffer if I kept going through with this petition and kept posting it. In 1977 George Lucas strived to make a movie that nobody wanted to be a part of, it was difficult and he was told to change it and put all his money and time into it. He created history and made a huge change to cinema everywhere and the future... [Read More]

Friends

Emelyn

"Nick?" my best friend, Nathan, whispered as he laid in the bed next to me. I didn't reply, but I believe he knew I was listening. "I don't want to die yet." It was the simplest statement I had ever heard him make. Nathan was always one to put things into complex terms and use as many words as possible to make his meaning as clear as glass. But this time, he didn't need any embellishments. "Neither do I," I wanted to say, but instead I just remained quiet. My fantasy was that we were both going to recover. The reality was that one of us wouldn't. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In second grade, my best friend was Ian Desmond. I had just moved to North Lake during the summer before the school year had started. On the first day of school, Ian stood out to me from the rest of the crowd... [Read More]
