The Rain

Sarah

It always used to rain
And then I met you.
Standing there in the dreary day,
You made the clouds wash away.
The sun came out as you promised to stay,
And I was a fool to believe you.
We laughed together,
Our hearts sang.
But then you heard the news,
And you had to leave.

Being the fool I am,
The words pleading you to stay
Froze on my tongue
As I watched you walk away.
You promised the sun would stay,
But you were wrong.
The rain came in storms,
Drenching me down to the bone.
And I looked to see if you could warm me again,
But you were gone.

It's going slowly but surely. How have you been doing?
