She Finds A Knife

UnbreakableHeart7

She finds a knife,
Cuts real deep.
Doesn't understand,
The life she could keep.

She feels trapped,
Inside her mind.
In misery
She tries to find.

She tried for peace,
Tried for love
And one day hoped
To look down from above.

Yet she finds a knife
And cuts real deep.
Finds a cliff
And wants to leap.

But she stops
And looks down.
"Is this what I want?"
She starts to frown.

She stares at her wrists,
The scars fairly new.
She sits down and cries
"What did I do?"

She takes a deep breath,
Closes her eyes.
Thinks of the past,
All the hatred and lies.

Once again, angry she is,
She swallows a great lump.
Runs toward the edge, fast as she could,
Finally deciding to jump.

This is really beautiful, I'm almost crying, I wish you, my dear, that you can step away from the cliff, life's worth it. I know myself that sometimes you want to run and do the final step, but there are moments in life that are worth not to do it. The moments someone shows you their love for you, hold on to these and don't give up, unbreakable heart!

"What did I do?" This is beautiful. It shows the final choice that shouldn't have to be made, but always is. Though I know it's besides the point, it also dances across your tongue and flows across your mind like a poem should. Poems like these give new meanings to life, meanings that could never be brought from a poem that doesn't capture this one choice.
