Gone

Tess

God you took her without a word.
Oh! the pain it brought was too much to bear.
Lying there so still,
She looked so very ill.
Just lying in her coffin there.
God you took her without a word.

Pretty white dress.
Hair in bows.
She looked so lovely lying there in a deathly pose.
God you took her without a word.

Screams and cries from mother and friends.
Will this empty feeling ever end?
They ask if I'm okay,
No! What would you like me to say?
God you took her without a word.

She's in a better place I know,
But why here? Why now? Why me?
That was an empty question.
God you took her without a word.

Butterflies now called her name,
And God you did too.
God you took her without a word.
