Spare me Love

Spare me today…

from waiting and longing
for the kiss
that told me lies
and stole my sanity.

you Wait for me,
when the sun shines
o’er the solemn pavements
o’er the budding roses

when the church bell rings
and the pretty birds sing
when new born clouds
hover o’er the blue sky.

I’ll wait for you
oe’r the green fields
near the lake
sweet, sound and serene

I’ll see you soon
not tonight
for my heart still aches
from the wounds you gave me.

Spare me Love.
