Lonely people are misunderstood

Raincloud

I love winter
The air stills
Cold numbs the skin
And time crawls

Perfect for a walk
Down the road less traveled by
Where naked trees cover overhead

Where the snow-filled clouds
Make the world grey and uniform.
Where the road stretches
and the ice glistens.

The trees stand at attention
As I pass by them
As silent as they are.
Maybe even more so

As I
Listen.
All I can hear is my breath.

Smell.
Nothing to smell, all the flowers have wilted.
I am not really alone
I have my thoughts
and a memory of someone.

The cold numbs it away
I love winter.
