THE DAY BEFORE VALENTINE

Story of a girl......
Today i sit here on the park
bench
Engulfed in the numb darkness,
My thirst for your love doesn't
seem to quench
My eyes without you melancholic
and spark less.

I'm trying to resurrect you in my
thoughts
But all that effort goes in vain,
Your memories bring joy to me
Or moments that breed pain.

The shroud upon my dead eyes
lifts
The emptiness buried in them
shifts,
In front of me those moments
come alive
Which due to blows of life
couldn't thrive.

Last year,
The day had started pleasant and
clean
You treated me like your Queen,
Presented me chocolates and
roses nine
It was the valentine when you
were mine.

The evening that followed was
even bright
When we kissed under the
gleaming moonlight,
Your love took it even further
We were absorbed into each
other.

**Suddenly the truth shows its
ghastly face
My heart begins to trot and
race.....
I begin to search the bench for
something
Foot by foot and inch by inch,
I find the inscription on the
wood clear
It said, 'Love You Long Time My
Dear'
Sadness grips me along with
fear
From my eyes falls a silent tear,
Our bodies die but souls don't
depart
You will always remain my elixir
part.
